Epic Opposition: Joomla versus Drupal

You know things are different today but it seems to me that these two are always will be rivals in the CMS battlefield. I do believe that both platforms are great but can’t miss opportunity to say few words about these guys. It is not a secret that Joomla is younger than Drupal but now this CMS platform has one of the biggest communities and it is very important for simple users. The point is that both platforms have many positive similar features. I think that you’ll agree with me that easy deployment, available versioning, simple content  editing, comfortable and functional administration user interface are great in both platforms. Nevertheless that I’m Joomla fan and believe that Joomla 1.5 templates are the easiest way to build cool website with remarkable design I know that we have some negative moments. Joomla is not so SEO-friendly as we wish but I hope that these aspects will improve in the nearest future. Of course many of you were frustrated because all these troubles with paid modules and other Joomla specialties. And if you are professional blogger Joomla will be not enough for you I must say that it is one of main problems for them. As for Drupal I have heard a lot of different thoughts but I can tell you for sure that if you will decide to change design for your Drupal website it will be very time consuming. Anyway I think that you have your own opinion concerning Joomla and Drupal and this small post is just my 2 cents. :) . See ya!

AC/DC’s fans have created their version of famous song BIG GUN – and now it sounds like Top Gun… Or maybe they were fans of the similar movie with Tom Cruise… anyway this Joomla website sells Yamaha bikes and I can tell you for sure that these bikes are real samurais. Their Joomla website has perfect dark background that is always looks very dynamic and stylish. And don’t forget about superb dynamic gallery in the header – some nice shots there!

Best Software Joomla Websites

Yesterday I was watching some videos on Youtube and have stumbled on nice commercial from a famous Russian developer Kasperskiy. Absolutely crappy video with Jackie Chan that made me laugh and inspired to make create small collection of Joomla websites of software companies. I think that nowadays any company can afford to have really attractive website with professional design.

We pick this website because of its elegant layout and soft color scheme – these features are very common for all software websites. Of course you can argue that there are tons of Joomla 1.5 Templates that realized in bright colors with original images but we think that such sophisticated style like Visolity’s website has is one of best.

Joomla is Nominated in 4th Annual Open Source CMS Awards

The 4th Annual Open Source CMS Awards sponsored by Packt Publishing is open for nominations Joomla is eligible for Best PHP Open Source CMS and you can also nominate project contributors such as Open Source MVPs. The nominations are open until September 11. Voting among the top five nominees will begin on September 18.

Joomla, along with Drupal, is already a nominee in the new Hall of Fame category. This category will have sub-category awards for Best Extensions and Themes. These will be nominated by the CMS’s representatives.

Joomla 1.5.14 Released

The Joomla Project announces the availability of Joomla 1.5.14. This release contains fixes for two material bugs that were introduced in version 1.5.13 and one low level security issue. Instead of waiting for a normal 6 to 8-week release cycle, this release is being made available to users now. It has been few days since Joomla 1.5.13 was released on July 22, 2009.

Inspirational Joomla Styles: Part 2

You may have noticed that we wrote about Joomla community showcase. As you may also know that we are big fans of beautiful design for Joomla. That is why we are trying to deliver best designs examples for you and lower you can check out some remarkable Joomla websites that have inspired us. These three websites we have chosen among the other top rated designs from Joomla community showcase because we as a company that produces Joomla 1.5 templates assume that it is very important to demonstrate such designs.

The web page of DJ Murano is an outpost of modern web design and we are so glad to present it in our small showcase. As you can see this website has original header with small photo gallery in it and beautiful curves in the background.

Do you love hot rods? I’m sure you do and this design is exactly about roaring engines and unbelievable design concepts for muscle cars and hot rods. This Joomla website is performed in a classical black style with minimum details. That’s  what we call really striking design – pure and refined, mesmerizing and charismatic.

Joomla vs Mambo

It is not a secret that these two brands were one brand just a few years ago. According the statistics Joomla have beat their ex-partners in the middle of 2006 by the number of visitors. Nevertheless that both projects have very similar online offerings the Joomla online forum community is larger than Mambo in many times.

We produce Joomla 1.5 templates and can state that Mambo templates have lost their positions long time ago. The turning point in the struggle beetwen two ex-partners has become a Joomla 1.5 release. This occasion showed that Joomla has more effective components and this software have combined best innovations in the sphere of CMS development.

The point is that now it is hard to say that Mambo and Joomla can be compared as two platforms with similar components. Those times are gone and now we can state that Joomla is a true leader in this sphere.
